POSITION TITLE: Provisional Pupil Transportation Analyst (12 months)
REPORTING TO: Director of Transportation

HOURS: 8.0 hours per day

CURRENT LOCATION:  Bus Garage

START DATE: ASAP

BENEFITS AND SALARY: Starting salary range of $50,000.00 - $57,000.00 per Support Staff Supervisors' Contract. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Pupil Transportation Analyst is responsible for maintaining the district's computerized fleet routing and scheduling program. This role involves assisting the Transportation Director with developing and updating bus routes to comply with district policies and state education guidelines for various student populations, including public, non-public, and special needs students. Key responsibilities include collaborating with transportation staff and school offices on route modifications, managing student information databases, and calculating bus routing times and stops based on capacity and travel requirements.

The position also performs general office duties such as filing, answering phones, and processing invoices. They handle regular dispatching duties, including inquiries, complaints, and issues related to student transportation, and maintain records and reports on vehicle mileage, student transport data, and expenditures. Additionally, the role involves generating reports for district administration, the Department of Motor Vehicles, and the NYS State Education Department, and utilizing word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

Job Qualifications

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

*Provisional Appointment*: Must successfully complete the Albany County Civil Service Pupil Transportation Analyst exam when next given and be eligible for appointment to retain this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EITHER:

  1. Graduation from high school or possession of a general equivalency diploma and five (5) years of general clerical experience, two (2) years of which must have been in either a school district or working with school district transportation software; OR,
  2. Possession of a Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of customer service experience.
