POSITION TITLE: Senior Keyboard Specialist (NY HELPS)
REPORTING TO: Supervisors of Special Education
HOURS: 7.5 hours per day (12 months)
CURRENT LOCATION: Lisha Kill Middle School - Office of Pupil Services
ANTICIPATED START DATE: February 2025
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Special Education Department, the senior keyboard specialist will support the Student Support Services Office in their adherence to the regulatory requirements associated with Special Education laws and regulations. Organizing, maintaining, tracking, copying and transferring of student records when necessary.
Knowledge of special education along with Frontline/IEP Direct data management system, preferred but not required.
Effective communication with visitors, parents, staff, administrators, and the general public.
Maintain confidentiality and a positive work environment.
Does related work as required.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Schedule D per CSEA Contract ($41,300.00 starting salary)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Possession of a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma and two (2) years of clerical experience including, but not limited to, typing, filing, answering phones and data entry.
Ability to type on a keyboard at the rate of 35 words per minute.
Attention to detail.
Ability to meet timelines.
Candidates will not have to take an exam for this title. This is a Hiring Emergency Limited Placement (HELP) Program-designated title. The HELP Program is a temporary program designed to help local government employers address current staffing issues. Traditionally, the titles filled under the HELP Program required job candidates to compete in a competitive exam to be considered for employment. For the duration of the program, this title will be classified as non-competitive and categorized as a “HELP Program” position. At the close of the program, this position will revert to competitive class status. Employees occupying positions filled through the HELP Program will be granted competitive class status without the need to participate in a competitive exam.
