Job Description

The South Colonie School District is seeking a 1.0 Probationary Music (Orchestra) Teacher at the Middle School Level (Grades 5-8) for the 2025-2026 school year.

OPENING: (1) 1.0 Probationary Music (Orchestra) Teacher-Middle School Level (Grades 5-8)

START DATE: September 1, 2025.

Job Qualifications

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

Our ideal candidates should have;

Music Teacher NYS Certification.

Possess strong orchestra skills. 

Effective communication skills to engage students, parents, colleagues and the school community as a whole. Awareness and experience with relative technology mediums would be ideal.

Creativity and insight into core curriculum.

SALARY AND BENEFITS: According to the South Colonie Teachers’ Association Contract. At least Schedule I, Step 1 or $56,546.00, depending on experience and transcripts.  Competitive benefits.
