General Requirements/Responsibilities:
NYS Certification as a School District Administrator (SDA), School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS), School Business Leader (SBL) or School District Leader (SDL). Masters Degree (30 hours or higher) with a major in educational administration.
Minimum of 5 years of successful experience as a classroom teacher and any previous administrative experience.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Assists the Principal in providing educational leadership and overseeing overall management of the school.
Assists in planning, organizing, supervising, coordinating and evaluating the instructional program so as to ensure ongoing improvement.
Assists with student discipline.
Supports, follows and recommends changes to all district policies, administrative regulations and building procedures.
Assists in the supervision of assigned personnel.
Develops, in conjunction with the school Principal at the beginning of each school year, a listing of specific job objectives and an action plan describing procedure, completion dates and performance indicators.
Reviews with the school Principal at mid-year and at the year end an overall assessment of performance in meeting general job responsibilities and specific job objectives.
Assists in the school's decision-making process by serving as a member of the Administrative Team.
Assume responsibility for student attendance, conduct, health and safety.
Contributes to the development and maintenance of positive public relations.
Assumes responsibility for continuing professional development by reading professional publications and attending seminars/conferences.
Performs other appropriate duties as assigned by the building Principal and/or Superintendent.
Salary and Benefits:
According to the South Colonie Administrators' Contract - base salary of at least $93,500.00 depending on experience and transcripts. Competitive benefits.
