Job Description

1.0 Probationary ENL Teaching Assistant High School Level (Grades 9-12) (to support students in ENL classrooms).

The South Colonie Central School District is seeking (1) 1.0 Probationary ENL Teaching Assistant High School Level (Grades 9-12) to fill a position for the 2026-2027 school year.

OPENING: (1) Teaching Assistant in (ENL classroom) – High School Level (Grades 9-12)

START DATE: September 1, 2026

Job Qualifications

 

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

Our ideal candidate should have;

• Teaching Assistant or Teacher (preferred Students with Disabilities or ENL) with appropriate NYS Certifications.
• Effective communication skills to engage students, parents, colleagues and the school community as a whole.
• Creativity and insight into core curriculum.
• High school level teaching and support experience and familiarity with the culturally relevant needs of ELL's.
• Experience with students with varying abilities, solid organizational skills and willingness to facilitate hands-on activities.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

According to the South Colonie Teaching Assistant Contract at least $28,838.00 depending on experience and transcripts.  Competitive benefits.
