Job Description

The South Colonie Central School District is currently seeking one (1) Probationary Teaching Assistant Special Education in an 8:1:2 room at Colonie Central High School (Grades 9-12) for the 2026-2027 school year. 

OPENING: (1) Probationary Teaching Assistant Special Education 8:1:2 at Colonie Central High School (Grades 9-12)

START DATE: September 1, 2026 or ASAP

Job Qualifications

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

Our ideal candidate should have;

• Teaching Assistant or Teacher New York State Certification.
• Effective communication skills to engage students, parents, colleagues and the school community as a whole.
• Creativity and insight into core curriculum.
• High school level teaching and support experience.
• Experience with students with varying abilities, solid organizational skills and willingness to facilitate hands-on activities.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

According to the South Colonie Teaching Assistant Contract at least $28,838.00 depending on experience and transcripts.  Competitive benefits.
