The educator will be responsible for teaching groups of students with a range of disabilities.  The selected candidate will develop, monitor and adjust instruction to promote the growth of our students which includes their intellectual, emotional, social and physical well-being.  Additionally, the successful candidate must demonstrate unquestionable integrity, understand the value of culturally responsive instructional practices and have a firm belief in the potential of all students.  Algebra 1 co-teach/Resources Room teacher.

General Requirements:

Our ideal candidate should have;

  • NYS Permanent Special Education or NYS Professional in Students with Disabilities Certification.
  • Candidates who posses other teaching certificates, in addition to special education are preferred.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Familiarity and experience providing instruction in the areas of Math-Algebra 1 co-teach/Resource Room
  • Effective communication skills to engage students, parents, colleagues and the school community as a whole.

Sub/Long-term Sub Physical Therapist High School Level at Colonie Central High School for 2025-2026.

Start Date: Approximately October 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026 (anticipated).

School-based therapists (PT) are part of a team of related service providers who support a student's ability to access his/her educational environment.  As specialists in movement, they assist a student's physical participation in a variety of settings throughout the school day.  The primary role of the school PT is to help students benefit from their educational program within the educational environment.

Physical therapy is provided at schools when it is related to educational needs.  Intervention and goals in the school setting address the child's functional needs in accessing all areas of the school curriculum.  Physical therapy interventions are designed to enable the student to travel through the school environment; participate in classroom activities; maintain and change positions in the classroom; as well as manage stairs, restrooms, and cafeteria.

General Requirements:

Our ideal candidate should have;

  • Physical Therapist NYS Certification/Registration required.
  • Provide direct and indirect therapeutic services to students, adhering to agency policies.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations, making referrals as needed.
  • Collaborate with team members on Individual Education Plans (IEP's) and Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) Plans.
  • Design an implement treatment programs based on established goals and objectives.
  • Communicate with educators, parents, and other professionals to support students needs.
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Participate in meetings and professional development activities.
  • Instruct classroom personnel on therapy techniques and safety protocols.
  • Stay updated on best practices in pediatric physical therapy.
  • Ensure compliance with center policies and school health and safety regulations.
