HOURS: 5.75 hours per day (Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., exact schedule to be determined)

CURRENT LOCATION: Colonie Central High School 

SALARY & BENEFITS: $18.71 per hour per CSEA Contract.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs routine manual work as directed by the Cook Manager or Food Service Director. Responsible for requisitioning weekly food items and materials. Keeps simple records in relation to temperatures (hot /cold/refrigeration) as directed. Completes production records in a timely manner as directed. Performs duties by utilizing knowledge of the proper methods of preparing and serving food,proper sanitation procedures and food handling techniques. Sets up serving line with food, utensils and maintains proper temperature of food. Sets up condiments, eating utensils, snack times, etc., prior to service.  Acts as cashier or server as directed. Prepares salads, bowls of fruit and other cold side dishes. Washes dishes, pots and pans by hand or machine. Sanitizes food contact surfaces after service or whenever necessary. Cleans ovens, milk coolers, etc., as necessary. Serves breakfast and/or lunch items to students in conjunction with Federal and State guidelines; Performs some duties by lifting, reaching, carrying, stooping, bending and squatting.  Performs duties of standing, often for prolonged periods. Performs some duties under the environmental conditions of extreme heat and exposure to fumes and odors. Performs some duties, which require good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Demonstrates ability to follow oral and written directions. Demonstrates effective interpersonal skills. Performs related duties, as required..

POSITION TITLE: Senior Keyboard Specialist (10-month + 1 week position)

REPORTING TO: Building Principals

HOURS: 7.0 hours per day, Monday - Friday

CURRENT LOCATION:  Colonie Central High School

ANTICIPATED START DATE: August 25, 2026

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The work involves responsibility for the performance of more complex clerical tasks and the full-time or substantial part-time operation of a computer for the entry and retrieval of information using software to produce printed material such as letters, memoranda and forms. Specific duties vary with the needs of the department. Procedures are generally fixed but the incumbent is given some leeway in the development of new procedures.  Detailed instructions are given for new or difficult assignments. Work is reviewed by direct observation, checking completed work, periodic or spot checks, cross-checking or other steps in the clerical process.  The incumbent in this position is typically supervised by a manager or division director.  Does related work as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is routine manual work performed under immediate supervision in connection with preparation and service of food. Food Service Helpers will perform cooking duties involving lesser degrees of skill than regularly required of employees in the classification of Cook. Does related work as required.

Long-Term Replacement 1.0 Special Education Teacher (8:1:2) at High School Level (Grades 9-12) for 2026-2027 at Colonie Central High School.

Start Date: September 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027.

The educator will be responsible for teaching groups of students with a range of disabilities.  The selected candidate will develop, monitor and adjust instruction to promote the growth of our students which includes their intellectual, emotional, social and physical well-being.  Additionally, the successful candidate must demonstrate unquestionable integrity, understand the value of culturally responsive instructional practices and have a firm belief in the potential of all students.  Effective September 2026 to June 30, 2027.

General Requirements:

Our ideal candidate should have;

  • NYS Permanent Special Education or NYS Professional in Students with Disabilities Certification.
  • Candidates who posses other teaching certificates, in addition to special education are preferred.
  • Master's degree required.
  • Familiarity and experience providing instruction and support for students with emotional disabilities and/or behavioral challenges.
  • Effective communication skills to engage students, parents, colleagues and the school community as a whole.
